In May 2006, Hernán launched his own CD series called Sequential which, so far, has earned him only top rankings in the world's leading music publications: it scored five out of five stars and "Leading Player" in DJ Mag, full rating in UK's M8, and "4 out of 5 -the best compilation Hernán's ever made" in IDJ Mag.
With an eclectic mix of tracks that includes a whole variety of house rhythms and productions from artists such as Way Out West, Marco Bailey, Paolo Mojo, 16 Bit Lolitas, Dousk, Bushwacka and a remix for Phonique featuring Royksopp's Erlend Řye, his first installation of Sequential has become essential. The selection of tracks is not only utterly tasteful but also manages to transcend genres with each track having its own distinct sound and feel to it, united by a stimulating bassline and subtle breakdowns. He incorporates house classics, deep, tech, funky and progressive in his sets. His musical taste takes inspiration from everything and anything that he feels, acid house, funk, soul, disco, rock, Indie, Brazilian, carnival, reggae, dub...
Born and raised in London, he was exposed to the acid house movement at 16 and a devoted regular at the legendary spiral tribe and traveller raves around the UK at that time. Having bought his first set of turntables in 1990 and working for 6 years as a 'computer techie' his passion and real love in life was music.
His DJ career all began with 1 mix CD that he took a considerable amount of time and love preparing, he sent it out to 100 random people that requested the CD from a post that Desyn put out onto various internet message boards. After a few months the CD had been passed all around the world and ended up on the laps of various promoters and DJs. The CD made such an impression that Desyn, although completely unknown at the time began to get international gig requests. Visit related site
In the early '90s, Oakenfold spent 18 months opening for U2 during the rock act's international Zoo TV tour. He ended the decade with two North American 50-date DJ tours (1998 and 1999) and a listing in the "1999 Guinness Book Of World Records" as the world's most successful club DJ.
His sets are musical journeys that hopefully take people places that they've never been and make them feel things they've never felt before.
The end result is a unique, beat-savvy soundscape. The experimental layering of a wide array of electronic sounds and wavering beats, combined effortlessly with sporadic vocals and mood-altering tempo changes, creates a comprehensive exploration of house, trance, techno, and other musical styles. In 2006 Sharam released GU29 - Dubai. The compilation was called "a double header CD that kicks the dust outta the dance with its skywards soars, desert storming dirtiness and seductive sensuality.." by DJMAG and it was also said that "Dubai" makes you wish you were in the club enjoying it live. But even at home it's an intoxicating experience, building from the Jazzy dub of DYAD 10's "Sugar Sweet Thing", to the relentless house of "Manitou" near the end of the second disc"
In 2006 Sharam also released P.A.T.T.(Party All The Time). Kristin Schrot began her career, not as a deejay, but as a model. At 16, she made it to the finals of one of the largest modeling pageants in Germany, and soon after secured a worldwide contract with Elite Model Management. Longing for more, her passion for music led Kristin to move to Amsterdam where she dubbed herself ?Miss Nine? and began pursuing a career in the electronic industry.
Only three months after touching the decks for the first time, Miss Nine received her first gig during Queensday in Amsterdam on the Red Bull float. Shortly after, she became a resident DJ at the locally legendary ?Motion? parties where she evolved as an artist and deejay while playing alongside masters such as John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, and James Zabiela. In 2003 she began touring abroad, playing at venues such as the illustrious Mambo Beach in Curacao, and even made an appearance as the youngest artist at the 10th edition of Dance Valley.
At the end of 2005, Miss Nine was asked to join Bullitt Bookings, the reputable agency of A-list deejays such as Deep Dish, Nic Fanciulli and Danny Howells. This merger has allowed Miss Nine to explode onto the forefront of the DJ scene. Currently touring with Deep Dish, Miss Nine performs around the world, spinning at clubs such as Pacha in Ibiza, Space in Miami, Avalon in LA, Crobar in New York and Ministry of Sound in London, with her fan base multiplying by the minute.
While enduring this exhausting tour schedule, Miss Nine still works fulltime as model for Elite. Modeling also takes her across the globe as the highlight of various photo shoots and ad campaigns for designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Armani, Lancome, Custo and Pepe Jeans. She has appeared on the cover of several magazines, most notably Elle Magazine in Amsterdam.
Miss Nine is the first female to mix a compilation for Washington-based Yoshitoshi Recordings, the world-renowned leader in progressive house music. Visit related site
